Happy Birthday Delaney!

Happy Birthday Delaney!

I can't believe my baby is 2! I remember being very emotional last year when she turned one. I'm just happy this year and shocked at how fast the time has gone by.

She had her 2 year checkup today. She weighs 25lbs and is 33" tall. She passed all her developmental tests well and her eyes and ears checked out fine.

Here are some pics of my little pixie over the past 2 years.

Pretzel Tour

The MOMS Club took a tour of Martin's Pretzel Factory on Thursday. It was great! The kids got to watch the whole process of pretzel making and even make a pretzel. Delaney was home sick with Zach so I actually got to relax and enjoy myself on the tour. Zoey learned a lot and loved it. Here are some pics, thanks Carrie!

plane crash

Last night at 10:15pm a plane crashed on Long Street in Clarence Center. This is my home town. I spent my first 20 years in a house barely 1/2 a mile from the crash site. I am devasted that this has happened and I am praying for all the familes affected. I am not sure how many people I personally know are involved but I do know that all of my family members are safe.

RSV

Delaney has Respiratory Syncytial Virus, blah! She has had a cold for weeks but that is pretty usual for around here. Saturday she started coughing though. Then Sunday night she was horrible. She couldn't stop coughing all night and was just so congested she couldn't get a good breath. I decided to take her to get checked just to make sure there wasn't anything we could get to help her get cleared up. The Dr said her chest didn't sound too bad and her cough was productive but she had a fever so he wanted to run some tests. Turns out she has RSV. It isn't too dangerous for adults and kids but for little ones it can be. So, since it is highly contagious she needs to be quarantined. The Dr gave a prescription for an antibiotic to help with the congestion and some cough medicine to help her sleep. I just need to make sure she stays hydrated and keep her comfortable. So far she has been pretty good. Obviously more cranky than usual but I'm managing to get a fair amount of food/drink into her. I'm keeping an eye on her because if it gets worse she might need some other treatment. So far so good though. I'd appreciate any prayers for her quick recovery!

Tinkerbell Party

On Sat we went to Aubrey's 4th birthday party. She had a fairy theme and the girls had a blast! Here are some pics of my fairys enjoying themselves.

Rocket

Zach and Zoey decided to make a rocket together on Sunday. It is quite a creation!

Mopping

Thursday is my cleaning day. I mop the floors, clean the kitchen, change the sheets, vacuum and try to organize toys. Last week while I was getting things started Zoey asked if she could help by mopping the bathroom. This isn't a rare thing since both girls like to take a turn with the swiffer or broom. So, I said sure thinking she was going to pretend to mop. Well, I started working and then about 15 minutes later heard her yelling to me from the bathroom. I opened the door and found this. Zoey had filled her little bucket with water and hand soap and actually mopped the bathroom floor. She hadn't taken up the rugs or moved anything out of the way. The whole room was soaked! The best part was she was in complete ballerina getup and standing on the stool in the middle of the room mopping around herself. Luckily for her I was in a good mood and was able to laugh about the whole thing.

Baby toes

My baby is almost 2 and I can't believe it! I took some cute pictures of her toes this weekend. She is growing so fast. I'm pretty sure will surpass Zoey in weight and height in the next few years.
