Mission Completed

Zoey's surgery went well and she is back to her normal self already. We actually had to keep her quiet yesterday. The Dr said she should rest for 24 hours. The hospital was great and she is was in and out quickly. The whole process was made a lot easier too by our good friends the Carrs. Thanks guys!
We are off to celebrate the holidays with our families now!
Merry Christmas to everyone!

Tubes

I took Zoey to see an ENT last Friday and we decided to have tubes put in her ears. She has had problems since she was a toddler with ear infections and fluid build up that effects her hearing. They really surprised us with a surgery date of the Thursday though. It seems so fast but I think it's better just to get it over with because the next available date was at the end of Feb. I am really ok with it, though I'm sure I'll be more nervous the day of, but Zach is very uneasy. He is worried about her being put under anesthesia. The hospital called today and talked with me for awhile about the whole procedure and I feel very confident that everything will go fine. She doesn't need an IV and that was my only real worry. She is really bad with needles. She loves doctors and all the attention will be on her so I'm sure she will think the whole thing is fun. I hope!
Anyway, we would appreciate prayer that everything goes well.

The results of the storm.

Well, we got about a foot but it was mostly cleared by morning. Zach didn't even get off from school. What a bummer! Zoey and I will have to go out and shovel this afternoon though. I add some pics later.

Christmas Pictures

Here are the pictures taken at Walmart. I think they came out pretty cute. Delaney was being a pip so she isn't smiling in the group photo but her look is very her. She is very inquisitive and the whole time she was glaring at the camera trying to figure out what it was doing. I am glad I did get a laugh out of her for her alone shot though. She was obsessed with that silver bulb. Zoey was a wonderful model as usual. She loves having her picture taken.

Snow?

Well, we are expected to get 20" of snow tomorrow. I doubt it will happen but you never know. Zach and I have a friendly wager going on how much snow will actually fall. I say 0"-6", he says over 12". We are definitely going to stock up just in case. I'll post some pictures if it happens.

Hippo Walking!

Delaney started pushing her hippo across the room today. I caught her doing it out of the corner of my eye and then set her up and she did it again. Her pant leg was giving her some problems but she thought walking was great! You can tell by her smile. I got two videos and the second one is of her going farther but I just love her smile and laugh in the first one. Zoey started walking independently only a few days after she started pushing this hippo. So, I could possibly have an independent walker by Christmas! AHH!

First Tooth

Delaney has finally gotten her first tooth at 9 1/2 months and boy did she let us know about it. She was up all night! Luckily by the next night she was back to sleeping normally, which is 8:30pm-7am these days. It looks like the the one right next to it will pop through soon too. I hope they don't all decide to come in while we are away for Christmas vacation. UGH! ~A

The school tree

Zoey's nursery school went on a field trip and cut down a Christmas tree yesterday. It was an interesting activity. At first it sounded like fun. We met at the school and sang Christmas carols then got ready to go. All the kids were excited and looked so cute bundled up. We got to the tree farm and they started the hike to pick out their tree. Then the real fun started. We have about 6" of snow and apparently walking through it when you're only 3 feet tall is challenging. By the time they got to the tree all the kids were whining and crying. They served them cookies and hot coca for a snack, in the snow, which I'm sure sounded fun but ended up being a mess. Most of them wouldn't drink the coca hot so they put snow in it. They cut down the tree and then dragged it back to the cars. By the time they got back all the kids were cold, it was only 20 degrees, and tired. It was the first time Zoey has ever cut down a fresh tree to so I wanted her to have the experience. I think we might pass on the trip next year though. Here are some pics.
