It's December!

We have snow, the house is decorated, we've made cookies and the presents are wrapped. Why aren't I excited for Christmas? I am always super excited for Christmas by now. Oh yeah, I am super uncomfortable, anxious and trying to patiently wait for this baby to be born. I want him out! I can't think about anything else and it's ruining my Christmas mojo. I am 40 weeks and ready! Let's go baby!

35 weeks!

I am 35 pregnant today! I had a midwife apt on Mon and everything looks good. He is head down, though flipped looking up and growing well.

I started feeling really antsy and anxious last night. Even though it's pretty much expected that I will carry this baby to full term plus, as my history shows, I still feel this overwhelming need to get things situated. So, today I made an emergency contact list, made a plan for if I go into labor and packed the baby's hospital bag.

Next week I am going to tour the hospital...

Maternity Photos

For my birthday I asked for a maternity photo shoot. I have always wanted to do one and being that this is our last chance I figured I better make it happen. So I found a photographer with reccomendations from friends and set it up.

We got tons of great shots but these are a couple of my favorites.

The girls loved being involved and I love that we will have these pictures forever to remind us of this time. Priceless!

First day!

Zoey had her first day of 1st grade yesterday. She was super excited and jumped out of bed like she was on fire. We sent her off fine and when she got home she had tons of wonderful things to tell us about her teacher and class.

Delaney and I missed her but we had a good time together working on learning the alphabet and playing.
It was also both girls first day of dance. Delaney is taking a tap/ballet combo class and Zoey is taking character jazz this year. They both loved it!

Happy New Year! -the past ten

A friend of mine wrote a post about the last 10 years of her life. It inspired me to do the same. So, here it goes...

Just to give you some background in case you didn't already know. Zach and I met Sept 1993. I walked into my studio art class the first day of my Sophomore year of high school and saw the man I would spend the rest of my life with. It's corny to say but I knew it the first time I saw him, he sort of glowed. I was instantly drawn to him. That was over 16 years ago and we have been basically inseparable since.

Ok, back to the last 10 years. July 8, 2000 Zach and I were married. It was an amazing day spent with family and friends.

(This summer we will celebrate our 10th anniversary.)

We began living together in Lockport, NY in a 2 bedroom apartment. I worked in the office at a precious metals refining company and Zach was going to school to finish his Masters degree. We had a lot of great times and hit a couple of rough patches being a young couple trying to make it all work. Our amazing bond kept us together through it though.

In August of 2002 Zach got a job as an AIS teacher at Indian River High School. So, I quit my job and we moved to Evans Mills, NY. We felt like real adults, living in a nice townhouse away from everything and everyone we knew. It was a kind of rebirth.

In July we bought our first home and I got pregnant. We started to feel settled into the North Country. In April 2004 Zoey Adele was born. There is no way to explain how she changed our lives. She made us a family!

During my pregnancy and especially after her birth I started feeling a deep need for God in my life. I spent a lot of time reading the Bible and in prayer. We sent out on a hunt for a church to belong to. We found Calvary Assembly of God in Carthage in January 2005. Thank God! The church family we found is amazing! The helped us grow and develop a new relationship with Jesus. Zach was baptized August 2005 and I was re-baptized in April 2006.

We decided to add to our family and in February 2007 Delaney Alyce was born!

She is a lively one! I call her my blond bombshell.

Another huge change in my life was when I joined the Watertown MOMS Club. I found a group of ladies who understood my joys and struggles as a mom. I became the president of the club the next summer and what once was a small group of 10 moms has grown into a large club with 35+ members. I have made some amazing friends who have really touched my life.

In June 2008 we started a remodel on our house. This included adding 300 sq feet addition which doubled the size of our kitchen, added a master bedroom suite and second bathroom. It came out beautiful and was done on time for us to move in right before school started. You can imagine how this changed our lives!

Sept 2009 Zoey started kindergarten! My baby is growing up so fast! She is a very smart little girl and is excelling in school.

Both girls are growing up so fast! They make every day a challenge but it is so worth all the struggles. They truly light up our lives. This year they are both taking dance class. They just had their winter recital and both loved it. We are very proud of them!

We are still active with church and host a weekly Life Group at our home. It has really kept us strong as a couple and Christians. We had an amazing Christmas this year and we are anticipating even more fun in the future!

Christmas Vacation

Our Christmas vacation went really well this year. Usually the girls are a nightmare in the car and traveling makes us all miserable. This year they did good though. We spent 5 days with my family at the lake and then 4 days with the Anderson's in Clarence. The girls really enjoyed seeing everyone and getting lots of presents!
