A better night...

Well, we had a better night. Delaney slept from 9-12pm, 12:45-4am, 4:30-6:45am. I feel a little revived today. I'm gonna mail out my announcements and start working on Delaney's scrapbook if I get the time. Zoey is being pretty demanding but luckily Grandma Anderson is here to play with her.

Here is my announcement. I made it myself and I am pretty proud of it.

I spoke too soon.

Ugh! Delaney has decided that she doesn't want to sleep good at night anymore. Last night she slept from 9-11pm, 11:30pm-2:30am, 3:15-5:30am, 6:30am-8am. At least I got one 3 hour stretch. I don't even think she did sleep from 6:30 on but my mother in-law came and got her so I could get some sleep. I'm not sure what to do about it or even if there is anything I can do. She falls asleep while I nurse her and I can't get her to drink for more than 5 minutes on a side. Then when I put her down she seems very restless and still hungry. I have tried everything to keep her awake but always after a few minutes she is out cold. Do you think I should put her on more of a feeding schedule throughout the day? (these questions are mostly for Faith because I know she is a nursing genius). I know she is still getting used to this whole being alive and eating thing so I should just be more patient....

One week old!

Delaney is one week old today! She is doing great. She is eating like a champ (I nurse on demand so she eats almost every hour during the day) and sleeping good (a four hour stretch from 12am-4am and then 2-3 hour stretches the rest of the night). Last night she slept from 9-11:30pm, 12:30am-4am, 4:30am-5:30am, 6am-9am. Luckily, I can fall asleep instantly so I am actually getting almost 8 hours of sleep, just broken up.

Yesterday we gave her a bath and she really really didn't like that. It gave her lungs a good workout though. She loves her vibrating seat and being swaddled up tight (both things Zoey hated as an infant).

Zoey is loving her little sister. I don't sense and jealousy at all. Of course she has been entertained by my parents non stop so far. She did have a few days where she was pretty miserable but that was mostly due to being over tired. She loves holding her and whenever the music stops on her She has gotten up at all when the baby cries at night. That was my biggest fear!

My parents left today and we were all very sad to see them go, especially Zoey. I think she thought they were staying forever. If we had a bigger house that would be great! Unfortunately they had to get back to work. Tomorrow Zach's mom and sister are coming. His mom will stay through next week to help out. Tonight we will be all on our own. It will be our first taste of being the parents of 2! Keep us in your prayers!

Today is the day...

... and we are all miserable! Stuffy noses, coughs, low grade fevers for everyone. Zoey was up from 1-3am crying because she couldn't breathe. What a MESS! I am so scared they wont let Zach into the maternity ward. I hope they will just give him a mask to wear. I am also stressed about bringing the new baby home to all these germs. I would appreciate everyone's prayers! I'll update as soon as I get home. AAGGHH!!

1 more day!

I am being induced tomorrow at 8pm! I can't believe it is almost here! Part of me can't grasp the fact that in a few days I will be the mother of 2!

My parents got here safely last night. We didn't get all the snow we were supposed to. There was some blowing/drifting though that made things dangerous. Zach didn't have school so we just stayed inside all day and relaxed. It was a nice day off together especially on Valentine's day. I got a beautiful amethyst necklace and I was shocked. Usually he forgets.

Zoey made cards for her grandparents and cousins last week and was so excited to get some back in the mail. Here are some pics of her creations. She loves to draw stick people.

Look Alikes

I just had to share this. It forever amazes me how much Zach and Zoey look alike. I really hope this baby looks like me.

We have a date!

Well, I'm still not dilated any but she has moved down and things are "soft." So, we set a date for induction. I am going in at 8pm on Friday to have cervidil put in. I will sleep with it in overnight and then if nothing happens by morning we will start pitocin. I did the same thing with Zoey and she was born at 4:36am and all I needed was the cervidil to get me going. Hopefully it will work the same way again. So, this baby should be born on Feb 17th. I am super excited! I would appreciate any prayers for a healthy, safe, fast delivery!

p.s. Of course if I go into labor naturally before then I hope to have a Valentine's Day baby!

40 weeks

40 Weeks!

I can't believe I made it all the way to 40 weeks! I thought for sure she would be here by now. She is just too content in there. I have been having some stronger contractions today but they aren't regular at all. Maybe one an hour. I have also been having some mucus discharge. I am really hoping that this means something is going on in there. I have a Dr apt today and hopefully he will say there is some change. If not I will be induced some time at the end of this week. I'll update you when I get back.

Yeah! I will see my baby in less than a week! ~A

Saturday's Splender

Yeah! My freezer came right on time yesterday and it is perfect. They didn't even have a hard time getting it down the stairs. I got it all set up already and packed my pre-made casseroles into it. Now I actually have freezer space!

My non-stress test went good. The little one was moving around like crazy in there. Of course that was probably due to the fact that I indulged in a Dr.Pepper before I went. I haven't been drinking much soda or had any caffeine in months. I was stressed by the day and it was my reward. It tasted sooooo good! So, my Dr said we will set a date to induce me at my apt on Monday afternoon. It wont be until the end of the week so I still have a week for her to decide to come out on her own. She is just too happy in there though and I think she will stay put until we force her out.

I got a couple packages in the mail today of stuff I ordered on eBay. I am addicted! I got 4 adorable GAP outfits, all brand new, for less than $20. An adorable lavender corduroy dress with matching white/lavender polka-dot long sleeved onesie, a cute pink shirt with a bunny and footed striped pants to match, a purple flowered lined sleeper and a rose print lined sleeper. They all retail for $20+ each at the store. I love when I get good deals!

We are supposed to get more snow this weekend. Lets hope there isn't too much to shovel! ~A

Friday's fun

Well, I'm supposed to get my freezer delivered today. I called this morning and they said anytime from 10am-2pm. Of course I have a Dr apt at 1pm so It will come then. I had to clear out the pantry area and entry so they would be able to get it downstairs. Hopefully they wont give me a hard time about taking it to the basement. It was supposed to come yesterday, when I had nothing planned all day but there was a storm around Syracuse, where they are coming from, and rt81 was closed. So, I spent the day going through all of Zoey's clothes that were haphazardly packing in boxes and totes in the basement. I can't believe how much clothes she has! I am pretty proud of myself though. Everything is organized, labeled and packed by size and season. I am pretty sure there is a bunch that this baby will wear because the seasons almost match up perfectly. It was good planning to have two girls only 2 months apart. Ha!

I have nothing planned to do next week since I thought I would be having a baby. It is going to be a boring week. Maybe I'll do some more cooking since I have the freezer to fill now. Anyone have any good cookie recipes that can be frozen?

Here is a picture of my belly at 39 weeks.

Todays apt update, 39 weeks +

All I can say is AARRGHH!!

I am still not dilated any so he didn't strip my membranes. I have an apt for a non stress test Friday morning and then we are going to talk about inducing me. It all depends on how the test goes. If it is fine he wants to wait another week to induce. ARGH! I can not stand another whole week! Anyways, the baby is good and I am measuring right on target. I guess I should just be glad about that. I am just so uncomfortable and I want to meet her so bad! Oh well! Maybe it will happen naturally on it's own soon. ~A

More snow!

It still hasn't stopped! We have at least 2 feet already and we are forecasted to get 8-12 more inches overnight. I can't believe this! Here are some pics from around 5pm:

Snow!

Well, we got the snow that was expected. I'd say at least a foot fell last night and it is still coming down. Zach is outside right now trying to see if he can dig us out so we can go to church. I think that is a crazy idea though. Here are some pictures.

p.s. Our pastor just called and cancelled church. So, don't worry we didn't go out.

Birth Pool

My Grandma decided that we should have some sort of pool going as to when the baby will be born. So, I sent out an email to my family and here are their picks:

Feb 2nd -Tom
Feb 3rd- Me (7lb 6oz, 19", light hair)
Feb 4th- Aunt Mag
Feb 9th- Amy
Feb 10th- Grama (8lb 2oz, 20" dark hair)
Feb 11th- Aaron
Feb 12th- Mom
Feb 13th- Jessica & Jen
Feb 14th- Dad (8lbs, 20" dark hair) & Patricia (8lb 4oz, 21", dark hair)
ASAP- Zach (dark hair)

Obviously, Tom and I are already out.

It's interesting to see what they thought. Everyone thinks she will have dark hair this time. I bet she will look just like Zach again though. If you would like to get in on the pool leave a comment and I'll add you in. Sorry, there is no prize other than knowing you were right.

Happy Birthday Elmo!

Today is Elmo's birthday. I also picked today on the birth pool but it doesn't seem like it will happen today.

The weather channel has been forecasting snow for us all week but we never got more than an inch or so. Well, today it came. It started coming down really hard earlier this afternoon and we've already accumulated about 4 inches. We are supposed to get 10 more inches by tomorrow morning and then even more on Sunday. Of course Zach shoveled the driveway yesterday.

Even though I want this baby out I hope she stays put for the next few days or until we get past all this snow fall.

I went out and had a nice breakfast with the ladies in the MOMs club yesterday at Cracker Barrel. I love the hashbrown casserole there. Zach took the day off because he had an allergist apt. So, we met up after we both were done and looked at freezers. I have decided I need more freezer space. I want to be able to bulk up some so I don't have to constantly shop for meat, etc. We also walked around the mall for a bit and found Zach some good deals on shirts. I'm glad we got out yesterday because it seems like we might be cooped up inside for awhile.
