back to the grind

Home again...

We had a wonderful Easter with my parents at the lake but I am glad to be home. We have a busy couple of months ahead of us getting ready for construction. I have so many people to call and organize. I can't wait to have some more space though! I post some pics from our week soon.

Dresses

The girls have three sets of matching dresses for Easter. One set is pictured above. They were given to them by Great Grandma & Grandpa Anderson and the Yorks. They wore them to the Easter egg hunt party at church last Saturday. Then I also purchased two other dresses on ebay. They were just adorable so I couldn't resist. They will all be worn several times I sure since Zoey LOVES to wear a dress. She often wears dresses even when we are just staying home. I was the same way as a child. I loved to get dressed up. I can still remember my favorite green dress. I wonder if my mom kept it?

Here is Zoey sharing her wisdom with Delaney. I just love the look on her face when she is done.

Kisses

Delaney loves to give kisses. Here she is giving some to Zach.

Here are the girls dressed in their matching overalls and green shirts for St. Patrick's Day. We had a MOMS Club party complete with green milk, green veggies and fruit, mint milkshakes, chocolate donuts with green sprinkles and green almond pound cake muffins. Yum!

prayers for the twins

Today I would like to ask everyone to add Sophie, Jack, Amy & Matt to your prayers. Sophie is having some kidney flow problems and Jack is being tested soon to rule out any issues. The whole family had to go through a trying day at the hospital and would appreciate some rest and peace. Sophie's surgery will be July 1st and your prayers on that day would be appreciated too.

Sick of snow!

It just keeps coming and coming. Friday night we got about 6 inches. Then Sat it hailed all day adding a nice icy layer to what was there. Last night we got another 6 inches on top of that. Church was cancelled so we spent the morning shoveling our driveway out. It is MARCH! I am so sick of snow!

To make things even better Zoey has a bad cough, Delaney has yellow gunk sealing her eyes shut and Zach is sick. Luckily, I'm healthy.

They all went to bed early so I am up all along at 8:30pm. It feels peaceful but weird. I think I'll work on my scrapbook.

Tough day

For some reason Zoey just has days when she wakes up mad at the world. Everything infuriates her. She screams and cries about putting on her socks, her breakfast options, the weather, who walks down the stairs first (?). On these days there is no reasoning with her or for that matter making her happy. She is just upset about everything and when she is upset she is really upset. Only a few people have witnessed her true fury and they probably never want to again.

Today is one of those days. She had some minor meltdowns this morning before school but as soon as I picked her up at noon she was miserable. First she cried in the car because the animal crackers were in jug instead of a bag. Then she cried because her juice cup wasn't with us. Then she wanted to watch a dvd but the player isn't working. The ride home is maybe 10 minutes long and I didn't get one minute of silence. Poor Delaney just stares at her like she is a freak. When we got home she cried because I wouldn't let her play in the snow. Then she cried because I made her use the potty. It was unending. So, I put her in her room where she proceded to scream bloody murder for about 15 minutes and then fall asleep. She slept for almost 2 hours and I'm hoping our evening will go better.

I'm not sure if every pre-schooler acts this way or if I'm just blessed with a spirited child. I have seen one of the girls on the show John & kate plus 8 act this way, Maddy. She is 6 though. Zoey isn't even four yet and she already has an opinion on everything. I guess I was this way when I was a kid. My mom tells stories about how bad I was. I was a good teenager though so maybe that will be my reward.

Here she is at 11 months . A forshadow of things to come.
