New seats

I noticed a little while ago that Delaney's car seat wasn't functioning properly. It is the same one Zoey used and when I stored it the straps got all yucky. So, I bought new straps and replaced them. Well, apparently the new straps aren't quite right and missing the center buckle. Thus making it only a 3 point harness and really hard to loosen. The poor girl is squished in there and able to squirm an arm out when she really wants to. This made me very upset and even caused a few nights of bad dreams. I actually almost fell out of bed because in my dream she was falling out of the seat and I was trying to catch her. So, a new seat is on order. I decided to get Zoey a new seat that goes all the way to 100lbs so I'll never have to buy another one again. I did tons of research and went to several car seat boards to find the perfect seat. I ended up getting the Safety 1st Apex. It is 5 point harness to 65 lbs and then can convert to a booster. I doubt Zoey will ever get over 65lbs until maybe middle school, ha! The only thing that makes me not 100% happy is that Zoey wanted a pink seat but this only comes in black with a blue stripe. We will suffer for safety. Delaney will be moved into Zoey's current seat which is a Britax Roundabout. I love this seat but it only goes to 40lbs and is VERY expensive. It was a Christmas present for Zoey when she got it. It is the safest thing out there and I will feel MUCH better once Delaney is switched into it.

Apples!

Seeing our cousins blog today reminded me that we never posted pictures of our apples this year. Here are some pictures of Zoey and Zach harvesting our apple trees. They really have a lot of fun doing this together. We get about 5 big buckets full and some are good to eat right off the tree. The rest we peal, core and slice up. Then we freeze them and are able to make apple bread, pie and sauce whenever we want. Right now I have 6 gallon size bags in the freezer. Yum, I think I'll do some baking today.

Delaney crawling video

I have mixed emotions about this whole thing but here is Delaney crawling. She is tooling around the house getting into everything now. We had to put up the gates yesterday. She even had some issues with her pants slowing her down here so you can imagine with nothing holding her back how fast she can get into stuff these days. My baby is growing up too fast!

How popular is your name?

HowManyOfMe.com

How many have your name?

Aparently there are 688 people in the US who share my name. I was pretty surprised by that. Alicia isn't a very common name. Though my last name is very popular. Go check your name.

It also says there are 28 people named Zoey and 0 people named Delaney. I like those odds.

Aha! You are there! I can see with my new fancy counter thing who is coming to my blog. So, why don't you people comment? I'd love a little commiseration or flattery. Ha!

ebay anger!

I just wanted to get out some of my frustration with ebay today. For the most part I love ebay. I do a lot of buying and selling there. I have gotten some great deals and gotten rid of some stuff for a good price. There are those times that things go wrong though and it is super frustrating. Like recently I bought a crib bedding set for the crib at the lake house. I paid for priority shipping so I would have it in time to take for the visit last weekend. After complaining to the seller because I still haven't received it I got some response about the post office screwing up and it getting sent back to her. I think this is a bunch of bull because the story just doesn't make sense. So, I am still waiting for it... Then I sell some bottles that I bought that Delaney doesn't like. I was excited because I get a pretty good price for them. Of course the buyer has decided to fall off the face of the planet and not pay though. So, I have to wait until Wed to file a claim with ebay and try to resell them. What a pain! Why would someone go to the trouble to outbid other people if they didn't want something. It makes me so mad! I wish I could just call these people up and scream at them. I guess it's good that I can't. Hopefully some of this will get resolved and I can go back to loving ebay.

monkeys jumping on the bed

Here are the girls and Grandpa and Grandma Anderson jumping on the bed. Delaney sort of got the idea. She thought Zoey was hilarious though. They had a blast!

Dance to the music!

I got this singing card from my parents for my birthday. Zoey thinks it is the best thing since sliced bread. For the first week we heard "dance to the music" a hundred times a day. So, anyone who wants to make her birthday a hit this year just send her a singing card. Don't miss Delaney dancing along in the chair behind her. Enjoy!

Hats!

I just LOVE babies in hats! Here are some of Delaney.

MUMS '07

Every year I take a picture of Zoey with the mums in our front yard. Here are this years pics and the ones from the past few years so you can see how she has grown.

Crawling

Delaney is crawling! Yikes! She started gimping along with one leg yesterday and today she is moving right along. Of course she is after all the things she can't have. I guess I am going to have to baby proof again. I am so not used to this. Zoey never crawled. When I put her some place she sat there until I picked her up again. Delaney is all over the place! I will try to get some video of her soon.

My toe is feeling much better. It has started to heal. I still can't wear a shoe though. My arm is still hurting where I got my tetanus shot though.

my toe today

Here are the girls playing together. They looked so cute I just had to get a picture.

My toe is feeling a bit better today. This morning I had to change the bandage and my skreeks surely woke the neighborhood up. The bandage had bonded with the wound and it was REALLY painful to get off! Here is a picture of the furniture I was carrying when it happened. It's really nice and heavy.

my toe!

My parents closed on the lake house last week so we have been spending a lot of time there since. I love the house! It is amazing to wake up and look out onto the lake.
Yesterday I went down with the girls to accept some furniture that was being delivered. What a fiasco is all I want to say about it. Then I ended up injuring my toe in the process of moving stuff around today. Let's just say at 4pm I had to have minor surgery which entailed having my big toe nail removed. I am in a lot of PAIN! I wont share a picture.
Anyways, we will be back there again this weekend to see my grandma and spend some time with Zach's parents. Hopefully nothing else will go awri.

They're here!

Congrats to Amy and Matt on the birth of their twins Jack and Sophie! They were born via c-section yesterday evening. Jack weighed in at 6lbs 3oz and Sophie at 4lbs 11oz. They were a pretty good size for 35 weeks. Both are doing well and will go home with Amy next week. What an answer to prayer! Please continue to keep them in your prayers over the next few weeks. I know how hard bringing one newborn home is and I can't imagine what two at once would be like.
